Bombardier’s aircraft service center in Tucson works closely with Pima Community College’s Aviation Technology program to recruit FAA certified mechanics as well as aviation structural graduates who perform fabrication and metal work.
Bombardier partners with Universal Technical Institute and the Los Angeles Trade Technical College to recruit skilled workers to maintain passenger rail equipment for the Los Angeles Metrolink commuter rail system.
Bombardier’s manufacturing campus in Wichita has established a partnership with Wichita State University to recruit engineering students for a variety of company initiatives. Bombardier also partners with the National Center for Aviation Training to develop curriculum for avionics and electrical technicians, and Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanics.
Bombardier’s rail car manufacturing center in Plattsburgh works with Champlain Valley Educational Services and the Mechanical Technology program at Clinton Community College to prepare students for positions in manufacturing industries. It also partners with Clarkson University to provide internships for students in its Engineering program and with SUNY Plattsburgh to provide internships for students in its Global Supply Chain Management program.
Bombardier’s Rail Control Solutions division in Pittsburgh recruits software engineers from local universities such as the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon. These highly skilled employees help develop computer programs that control train movements for rail systems.
Bombardier’s Red Oak aircraft wing manufacturing facility has established an aviation apprenticeship training program in association with Texas State Technical College that is designed to develop local talent, drive business growth and provide support for the manufacture of the Advanced Metallic Wing for the Global 7500 aircraft at its Red Oak facility.
