Bombardier Transportation, as a consortium member, was responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the Metro do Porto light rail system. The four-line system connects with nine municipalities in the metropolitan area and interconnects with the city’s existing bus and railway lines. Delivered in stages, Phase 1 opened in 2002 and the entire system was completed in 2006.
