Transport Canada also issues Certificate of Airworthiness for first production aircraft

The new Bombardier Global* 5000, the world’s fastest intercontinental super-large business jet, has been awarded full type certification by the European Aviation Safety Association (EASA). EASA granted type approval to JAR Part 25, up to Change 14, on July 18, 2004.

Bombardier also received the first certificate of airworthiness for the Global 5000 on
July 9 from Transport Canada, signalling the beginning of “green” production deliveries.

“Obtaining these key approvals from both regulatory authorities reflects the significant progress we continue to make with this exciting new jet, and the first Bombardier Global 5000 is on schedule to enter service in the fourth quarter of 2004,” noted Peter Edwards, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft.

The Bombardier Global 5000 offers an exciting combination of unparalleled speed and unprecedented cabin productivity and comfort. It also features the most technologically advanced cabin in corporate aviation delivering the latest in ergonomics, productivity and ambiance including seats with improved ergonomics and optional body heat-activated, NASA-designed cushions that adjust to a passenger’s physique, and a revolutionary Ethernet-based cabin electronic system delivering the same high-caliber working capabilities found in most traditional ground offices.
