Bombardier Adds New Aog/Line Maintenance Facility In Moscow Vnukovo International Airport

February 21, 2008 Montréal Aerospace,  Press Release

Bombardier Aerospace today announced Jet Aviation as its first Line Maintenance Facility (LMF) in Russia. Located at Vnukovo International Airport, Moscow’s premier – and busiest – business aviation hub, the Jet Aviation facility is now ready to offer round the clock Aircraft on Ground (AOG) service for Challenger and Global business jet models.

“Jet Aviation’s Vnukovo facility is a great addition to our global service network and further strengthens our commitment to Bombardier business aircraft operators in Russia,” said James Hoblyn, senior vice-president, customer experience, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “Vnukovo airport is a strategically important location for the increasing number of Bombardier business aviation operators either based in or passing through the region. It will ensure that Challenger and Global aircraft operators have convenient access to world-class customer service and outstanding aircraft availability.”

Jet Aviation is the first global independent business aviation services company to operate in Russia. Located next to the Vnukovo 3 FBO building, Jet Aviation has access to a state-of-the–art hangar and is the most complete business aircraft maintenance facility at this fast-growing airport. With more than 1,600 sq. m (17,222 square feet) of hangar space, Jet Aviation provides line maintenance, defect rectification and AOG support.

“We are pleased that Bombardier appointed our newly established Vnukovo operation as their first AOG/Line Maintenance Facility in this fast growing market,” said Peter G. Edwards, CEO of the Jet Aviation Group. “Resident and transient operators of Challenger and Global aircraft can now rely upon Jet Aviation’s expertise on delivering premium maintenance services at this important business aircraft hub.”

Located just 28 km from Moscow’s city centre, Vnukovo International Airport is Moscow’s busiest airport for corporate aviation, handling nearly 70 percent of all business aviation traffic in Russia. In 2007, Vnukovo reported a corporate and private aircraft traffic increase of 50 percent over the previous year.

The new LMF is a further step in Bombardier’s plan to expand its customer service footprint in the region. In 2006, Bombardier posted a full-time Field Service Representative in Moscow and named a new FSR manager, based in London and dedicated to international customers.

The Bombardier business aircraft service network of 45 facilities provides the highest quality of aircraft maintenance support for its operators around the globe.
