Offering more than 1,000 paid internships per year

Bombardier plays a leading role in the education and development of the next generation of innovators in the Canadian aviation industry. In partnership with 23 colleges and universities across Canada, Bombardier’s new internship program is offering more than 1,000 positions for post-secondary and university students in 2019-2020.

Fostering the next generation of aviation professionals is essential in responding to the aviation industry labor shortage in Canada. During their training, students benefit from real-world work experience and receive valuable advice through leadership and coaching sessions with senior executives who help them propel their careers, as well as build their professional network.

Training the next generation with cutting-edge technology

A C Series for the École nationale d'aérotechnique (ÉNA)

In October 2018, Bombardier donated a new high-calibre teaching tool, the third flight test vehicle in the C Series program (now A220) to the École nationale d'aérotechnique in Québec. The flight test vehicle, which has been used primarily for avionics and electrical testing, gives their students access to the latest commercial aviation technology.

For Bombardier, establishing strong partnerships with educational institutions is essential to ensuring a skilled succession and to encourage students to consider an exciting career in the Canadian aviation industry.

A Global 7500 business jet for Centennial College 

In January 2020, Bombardier donated a Global 7500 flight test vehicle to Centennial College in Toronto. This donation builds on a decade of collaboration between the two institutions to support aviation education, training, research and development. As the number of specialists in this sector continues to grow worldwide, Bombardier's commitment allows students to receive incomparable hands-on training using the industry's most advanced technologies and facilitates their entry into this competitive market.

A CRJ200 aircraft for Centennial College

In April 2019, Bombardier also donated a CRJ200 regional jet to Centennial College for training purposes, enabling the current and future generations of aviation specialists in Canada to upgrade their technical training. The Company also contributed $150,000 to the college to help it complete its landing gear research project and expand its educational program. These donations are contributing to the growth of Toronto's aerospace sector and the Canadian aerospace industry as a whole.

Encouraging Youth to Pursue Careers in Science and Technology through FIRST Robotics Competition

Bombardier is one of the co-founders of FIRST Robotics (Favoriser l'Inspiration et la Reconnaissance des Sciences et de la Technologie) Québec, an organization promoting school perseverance through a robotics competition for youth aged 14 to 18. Approximately 2,000 students across Québec take part in this competition each year.

Bombardier aims to encourage the next generation of innovators to persevere in their studies and develop an interest in science and technology by providing financial support for the event. More than 100 Bombardier employees volunteer their time and share their passion for technology with the thousands of students annually.
