BOMBARDIER FLEXITY trams for Basel make optimum use of the platform specific modular components and perfectly fit all the city’s tramlines. This unique flexibility enables Bombardier to deliver a tram to Basel which has been customised to meet the requirements of the Basel Transport Authority BVB, the city as well as Basel citizens.
This FLEXITY tram has been further developed for the city of Basel to create a homogeneous vehicle design reflecting the city’s cultural diversity – “with FLEXITY Basel into the Champions League.” The 2.3 m wide vehicle is available in two lengths: the five-module tram is 31.8 m long and accommodates 183 passengers, the seven-module vehicle is 43.2 m long and comfortably provides space for 254 passengers.
The long tradition of the BVB is reflected in the ergonomically shaped, wooden seats’ to comfortably transport passengers of different size. Long-living, easy to use materials offer surfaces which cannot be easily destroyed and can be easily maintained.
With low-floor technology, wide aisles, big windows and glass doors the tram creates a safe, light and open interior and provides passengers above all with one thing: a panoramic view of the beauties of Basel.
