Following the successful introduction of TALENT multiple units on local and regional services in Germany, theTALENT Class 93 train is the first member of this vehicle family to travel abroad. Based on the well-known and attractive exterior design, the interior has now been modified specifically to meet the high demand for comfort specified by the Norwegian State Railways. It features comfortable, adjustable seats equipped with reading lamps, genuine wood panelling, automatic interior doors, flexible design of the interior and a variety of special facilities, such as a service corner with vending machine, wheelchair lift and multi-purpose vestibule areas.
In addition, Bombardier's tilting technology, which is employed as standard equipment for the first time in Europe, provides fast and comfortable travel on curving routes in Norway.
A newly developed propulsion and air-conditioning system, plus numerous further modifications ensure that the trains can be operated in the extreme winter conditions experienced in central Norway.
This makes the TALENT Class 93 a successful development of the earlierTalent multiple units, and is further proof of the versatility of this vehicle family.
