MOVIA 456 Metro – Line 1, Shenzhen, China

In November 2001, the Shenzhen Metro Corporation ordered rolling stock for Phase 1 of its network (Line 1 and Line 4) from a joint venture between Bombardier Transportation and Changchun Railway Vehicles Co. Ltd. (CRC). The scope of supply for the rolling stock included 132 MOVIA cars (22 six-car units), spares and consumables, special equipment and services. The first unit was  produced at the Bombardier plant in Hennigsdorf, Germany, while the remaining 21 MOVIA trains will be produced locally in Changchun, China. The engineering of the cars, training, documentation and project management are the responsibility of Bombardier Transportation.
