Metro - Munich, Germany

In December 1997, a consortium consisting of Bombardier and Siemens signed a contract for the delivery of ten 6-car trainsets to operate Munich's metro network. In 2002 a further 8 trains were ordered. Bombardier is responsible for the mechanical design, supply of equipment and vehicle assembly, while Siemens is responsible for the electrical equipment. After extensive testing at the Wildenrath test centre, the first train was delivered to Munich in Spring 2001. Service operation started in 2002.
