The ultra-modern Las Vegas monorail system opened to passenger service in 2004. Linking eight major resort properties and the Las Vegas Convention Center, this fully automated 6.4-kilometre (4-mile) system connects seven stations east of Las Vegas Boulevard. Each station features station/hotel connections.
The fleet of nine 4-car INNOVIA Monorail 200 trains incorporates many new attractive features, including increased interior height and wider outside sliding doors. Beneath the sleek, space-age styling of the monorail's strong, lightweight composite shells are standard transit components found on many other Bombardier transit vehicles.
Bombardier has operated and maintained the system since it opened to revenue service in 2004. In 2009, Bombardier received the option order for another 5 years of operations and maintenance services.
