As part of the Arrow Light Rail Ltd Consortium, Bombardier Transportation provides the light rail signalling and control solution, CITYFLO 150, for the Nottingham Express Transit (NET), Line 1 light rail system.
Bombardier Transportation has supplied a range of passenger facilities that include: passenger information displays on trams and at tram stops, closed-circuit television cameras that transmit images to the systems control centre, passenger emergency help points and public address systems.
Bombardier Transportation has also equipped the control centre with a radio system, private automatic branch exchange (PABX) and an auxiliary/traction SCADA.
In total, Nottingham Line 1 covers 14 km of track (10 km off street, 4 km on street) with up to 15 vehicles stopping at 23 stations on the line.
The signalling system is 'drive on sight' with non-vital regulation in areas that demand a higher degree of availability and reliability with interfaces to heavy rail level crossings that run parallel to NET on the Robin Hood Line of the Network Rail infrastructure.
