FLEXITY Classic - Kassel, Deutschland
A new generation of 70% low-floor trams was introduced to the German city of Kassel with the BOMBARDIER FLEXITY Classic vehicles. Since 1997 the transport authority of Kassel (KVG) ordered 22 uni-directional and ten bi-directional vehicles. Other FLEXITY Classic trams, based on the Kassel vehicle, are now successfully in service in a number of German cities as well as in Krakow in Poland.
The tram can be run in multiple traction and is authorized for use on railway lines in accordance with the operational regulations pertaining to trams as well as for secondary lines in accordance with the operational regulations pertaining to railways.
Passengers enjoy special travelling comfort such as low-floor entrances, a pleasant and comfortable interior design as well as tinted window panes. A modern workplace for the driver is provided. The cab is equipped with an ergonomically designed driver's seat and air-condition.
