FLEXITY Classic - Adelaide, Australia
Bombardier has been awarded a contract for the supply of eleven light rail vehicles of the proven BOMBARDIER FLEXITY Classic family to the city of Adelaide in South Australia. The contract is part of a modernization and upgrade program of the historic tramway line linking the seaside suburb of Glenelg with the city centre.
The low-floor trams are based on the proven and reliable concept of the FLEXITY Classic vehicles for Frankfurt/Main. Equipped with conventional wheel-set bogies the vehicles offer increased running stability and reduced wear of the wheel which results in fewer maintenance and repair intervals. Wide double-doors and level entrances facilitate boarding and exiting the vehicle, especially for passengers with reduced mobility. Additional comfort features include large panoramic windows as well as an air-conditioned passenger compartment.
