Light Rail Transit System - Eskisehir, Turkey

In 2004, the Eskisehir light rail transit system, the first transportation line in Turkey to use 100 per cent low-floor BOMBARDIER FLEXITY Outlook trams, opened to passenger service. Bombardier, with consortium partner Yapi Merkezi, was responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the two-line 15-km-system.

Each tram is capable of carrying 159 passengers with 59 seated. The complete network is designed to carry 120,000 passengers per day at a top speed of 60 km/h in mixed traffic.

Bombardier arranged for complete project financing, consisting of an export credit from Sweden and credits from Nordic and European investment banks.
