BOMBARDIER INNOVIA APM – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, USA
In July 2009, Bombardier Transportation signed contracts with the City of Phoenix to supply, operate and maintain an INNOVIA APM 200 automated people mover system at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona, USA. The PHX Sky Train® is the first driverless transit system in Arizona.
Bombardier is designing and supplying all of the system-wide electrical and mechanical equipment for the PHX Sky Train®, including the CITYFLO 650 automatic train control. The fleet of 18 INNOVIA APM 200 vehicles will operate on 3.5-kilometre (2.2-mile) of mostly elevated dual-track guideway and will serve three stations, connecting a new station near the METRO light rail stop to the Airport's East Economy Parking and Terminal 4.
Following completion of stage one of the PHX Sky Train® in 2012, Bombardier will provide 10 years of operations and maintenance services.
