Bombardier Transportation has delivered in the years 2000 and 2001 twelve two-car metro trainsets for Helsinki City Transport. The possibility of operating up to three trainsets in one train configuration ensures very flexible operation for a wide range of transport and traffic situations.
The spacious vehicle interior provides enough room for passengers with wheelchairs, bicycles or bulky baggage. Passengers are kept informed by means of a modern two-language communication system (Finnish and Swedish). Thanks to the extruded aluminium carbody the vehicle weight could be kept relatively low. A simple and robust construction contributes to low maintenance costs.
