FLEXITY Outlook - Porto, Portugal
Located in the City of Porto, Portugal, the new system will connect nine municipalities in the metropolitan area and will interconnect with the city's existing bus and railway lines. When completed, the first phase of the system will have four lines, totalling 70 km and featuring 63 at-grade and 11 underground stations.
Seventy-two 100 percent low-floor trams from the BOMBARDIER FLEXITY Outlook family, based on proven technology already in service in France and Italy, provide a total capacity of 20,300 passengers per hour per direction. In December 2002, Porto Metro started operations with the inauguration of Line A, and after only two months of service, the system had already carried over 1,000,000 passengers.
