Sprinter Electric Multiple Unit - Netherlands
The Sprinter trains will extend the commuter service in the western metropolitan area of the Netherlands and gradually replace NS’ existing rolling stock. The trains feature:
- an attractive, open design;
- state of the art through-view;
- enhanced riding comfort;
- increased outward visibility due to wide windows.
Smooth passenger flow is ensured by the large number of doors, retractable steps and spacious entrance vestibules. The modern passenger information system includes acoustic announcements and TFT screens for visual information. The sustainable design of the trains allows for low energy consumption and noise emissions. The Sprinter trains meet stringent reliability requirements and are welcomed as a new generation of commuter trains.
