Bombardier FLEXITY Outlook – Innsbruck, Austria

Bombardier supplies to the Innsbruck transport authority (IVB) 22 trams of the Bombardier FLEXITY Outlook family. The new 100 % low-floor vehicles will gradually replace the old fleet and be put in operation on the city's tram network and the 'Stubaitalbahn' line. They are also scheduled to operate in regional service.

The new trams for Innsbruck impress with comfort features such as level entrances which give passengers with impaired mobility easy and effortless access. The vehicles also feature sufficient room for prams and wheelchairs as well as an airconditioned interior. Based on Bombardier's innovative concept, which allows the use of conventional wheel-set bogies in a 100 % low-floor vehicle, the trams are characterised by an exceptionally quiet riding behaviour and a step-less interior. Special emphasis has been put onto the safety of passengers and drivers. The driver's cab resists a buffer load of 40 tons and the steel-structure, which has been raised up to the side walls, guarantees optimal protection in case of a side-impact.

The modern FLEXITY Outlook trams are designed in the colours of the operator IVB and mirror the contemporary urban transport concept for Innsbruck and the region.
